AIG Licensure Cohorts
Since the 2010-2011 school year, the AIG program in Onslow County Schools has sought to support classroom teacher as they seek AIG licensure.

Teachers may participate in the cohort with or without the funding of the Onslow County Schools Gifted Program. All teachers are encouraged to apply to be apart of the cohort.

AIG Licensure Cohort 9 (To begin Summer 2018)

AIG Licensure Cohort 8 (Started Summer 2017)
On December 7, 2016, applications were available for Onslow County Schools' eighth AIG Licensure Cohort! Onslow County will work to support our eighth cohort of teachers through an ECU licensure cohort. Dr. Brian Housand from ECU leads the AIG department at ECU and has been a strong partners with Onslow County for a number of years. Applications to be a participant in the cohort were due to Michael Elder in Academic Innovation by Wednesday, January 11, 2017.
This is rigorous graduate level coursework. It should not be confused with professional development. It is some of the best professional learning any teacher can be a part of, but there are very clear expectations and deadlines from the university. Selection criteria includes district needs, a desire to work with all students including AIG children, intention on working in Onslow County in the future, principal recommendation, willingness to work with the cohort, and desire to grow professionally. November 10, 2015: Applications are now availble for Onslow County Schools' seventh AIG Licensure Cohort! Onslow County will work to support our seventh cohort of teachers through an ECU licensure cohort. Dr. Liz Fogarty and Dr. Brian Housand from ECU lead the AIG department at ECU and have become strong partners with Onslow Counyt Applications to be a participant in the cohort are due to Michael Elder in Academic Innovation by Friday, January 8, 2016.

Cohort 4 (began Summer 2013)
Onslow County's fourth AIG licensure cohort began during the summer of 2013.
An informational meeting was held on Monday, December 10th in Meeting Room One at the Onslow County Schools Central Office beginning at 3:45pm. Dr. Liz Fogarty from ECU joined us virtually and helped explain the program that ECU offers. Applications were due by Friday, January 11, 2013. The presentation is now posted below. Below you will also find the application and the the Frequently Asked Questions that may answer many questions.

Cohort 2 (to finish summer 2012)
Onslow County Schools Second Cohort began during the summer of 2011. This cohort will take four courses and take part in a two-part internship. The internship is a face-to-face experience in Pitt County with East Carolina University.
Onslow County teachers involved in this cohort include Elizabeth Klompstra, Catherine Knapp, Cyndi Moris, Kelly Peterson, Krista Purves, Shea Reyer, Melissa Thomas, and Shannon Williams.

Cohort 1 (completed summer 2011)
Onslow County Schools first supported cohort received funding through the Model Teacher Consortium. The feedback and success of this cohort convinced AIG district leadership to support future cohorts.
